It may be a little daunting if you have not fasted before. However if you ever find out what short term Intermittent Fasting (IF) is about, you may change your mind completely.
IF is nothing about hunger, starvation, headache or lack of energy. I must say there is no other weight loss method easier than this. You are simply eating everyday. Of course you may feel a little uneasy if you’ve been eating a minimum of three meals a day throughout your life. But you’ll simply love this way of eating as you see results after a few fasts.
There are many options in doing it. The most popular intermittent fasting diets being the one-meal approach (Eat Stop Eat) and the two-meal approach (The IF Life).
How to do Intermittent Fasting?
There is no standard rule of doing it. Simply try it and make it work for you. The real guidelines are simplicity and flexibility and of course eat healthy foods.
‘Skip meal’ is the first and easiest step to start with.
Pick a day to try skip breakfast. Have fresh juice, water or tea instead. See how your body responds. If that works out fine, try ‘skip lunch’ and move on progressively. A 24-hour fast can be done by anybody with an appropriate fasting mindset. The tip for success is not to think of food. This works really well even for experienced fasters like me.
You can also explore these IF options:
- Condensed eating window, e.g. eat ONLY between 11am and 5pm;
- Skip meal on an unplanned basis, as far as it is natural and not interfere your daily work;
- Early and late, i.e. skip lunch;
- One meal a day for twice a week, ideally dinner only when you are relaxed and really have time to enjoy food. Visit Brad Pilon’s website for more details.
- Two meals a day, an approach originated by Mike O'Donnell. 1000s has taken his advice as to skip breakfast, quit the gym and to get outstanding results. Click here to learn more.
